  • WELCOME TO 2010

                                      diet

WOW-Weather taking a bad turn for us here in the South and I can tell ya it is not something we are use to starting tomorrow it wil start freezeing and will stay that way for three or four days so that means busted pipes frozen water and lots of other problems we are not up too. I know you that live in Northern parts gets this every year but not here , we go into shock when it gets down to 32 in the daytime  not to bad if it drops overnite as by morning it starts to warm up. So Mr. L will have to wrap water pipes outside today when he gets homes as I have left all yard work to him ( cause he smarted off at me about the way I did things so now he do it all )

I have been busy with my genealogy stuff lately tracking and posting on my family sites and getting the family to gather info it is interesting and boy are there alot of them so far I have only been able to track them back to 1760 my g-g-g-grandparents in North Carolina it gets harder the farther back you go as the census only list head of household and number of famales and males under ages, and later when the census taker came around they just put down whatever they were calling each other at the time, on my Dad’s side they were really bad about that on every census  they had a different name  for the Mom and the kids so you have to double check everything to see if you have the right people after my Dad and his twin brother were born it became easier as you could check by them most of the time one or both of then used their real names  now on my Indian side it is even harder as some of them would never admit to being Indian as they were not allowed to own property or anything and later when they could admit it most of them said ” Hell no I have spent my whole life trying to be a white man/woman and I sure as hell ain’t gonna be an Indian now” I don’t know if they were still afraid or what but inside the family it was always known you just couldn’t tell any body else, so now when someone wants to an Indian it is hard to prove who you are. its kinda funny but my Dad and his twin were the strangest set of twins you ever saw as my Dad was redheaded and blue eyed his twin was very very dark with black hair and almost black eyes so guess the split the difference after all. they got one white and one Indian  to me it makes no difference who they were Indian or White they are still mine.

Well I am outta here and will try and visit and catch up on all of you hope to find you all well and happy.

    HAVE GREAT DAY

    LOVE AND LIGHT–STARWOLF

  • I loved the postcard at top so apt. Oh poor you having such cold weather although I prefer the cold to the heat it was 39c on xmas day and we in Tassie are not used to it. Still we survived but this is the hottest summer since we have been over here think it is 7 years now, time moves so fast that I can hardly catch up. I am also trying to do a family tree but because my relatives were from the UK and I am only trying to do it using the free sites not getting very far. Still will get there one day. Cheers for now Angela

  • Damn it is soooo cold here.  Horribly so.  I can’t wait for spring!

The geneology stuff is interesting.  Interesting about the difference in the twins, too.  Did you see the twins that were born a while ago (maybe a year ago) where one was white and one was black?  I believe (can’t remember for sure now) that both parents were bi-racial.  At any rate, it was something to see… they looked like sisters, features wise, but… one was blonde & blue eyed and the other was dark skinned, afro’d and had dark eyes.  Odd, but kinda cool, too.

  • we have been geting in the low 18 f at nights

  • Hello My Friend:  I ran into that problem with my Indian side of the family, my Mom’s dad was known as Running Fox but it carries little knowledge when researching the family tree back ground, seems there was so much bitterness and pain to their memories that they refuse to bring forth their Indian back ground, they said let it remain buried.  Many claim the white mans world was forced upon them and they lost their Indian heritage not even telling them how proud I am to have Indian blood would change their minds so I have no information to add to my family tree and that makes my heart sad.  Weather here is at an all time history record, 24 plus inches of snow and cold breaking records, winds strong than I have ever seen, people’s pipes freezing and busting, electricity lost to many homes until April, never have I know the nights to be sooooo bitter cold!  Heating bills have gone sky high here God help us all.  I have a heat pump and my electric bills are triple now OUCH!!!!!!!  We are promised this will last another 3 weeks maybe longer.  Oranges and fruit are freezing the cotton fields are destroyed costing 150 thousand plus in lost cotton.  I have no ideal what will happen next.  Hugs Shirley
