  • Your post was well thought out and presented, my friend, and I have to agree with you on most of your points.  I read Leonides’ post just before yours, and they’re alarmingly similar, though they deal with different issues of concern for our nation.  Our country faces some really hard times if there is not a drastic change in the ways our so-called leaders deal with the issues.  The fact that we are no longer quite so united here in the States becomes more of a problem as more and more of our people face hardships which they deal with alone, without the support of their neighbors or their government.  I applaud you for your candid opinions above, and pray with you that somewhere, somehow, we will develop the answers to the problems of our nation.

  • I do agree that those wanting to come here should come here legally… whether that be to come here and become a citizen or if it means having a work visa or some such thing.  But if that’s going to be the case, then there needs to be some way, I think, to help the process along, so that it doesn’t take eons to get in legally or get a work visa or whatever it is they’re trying to do… legally.

Desperate people will do desperate things.  Desperately poor, desperately under-educated people will take the route that is fastest & easiest for them to reach their goal.  They are willing to give up their lives (and many do) to get here.  And, again, as long as people (ours & their own countrymen) are willing to profit on the backs of these poor desperate people, nothing is likely to change.

  • The problems we face are complicated and there is no way the politicians will solve them eith their sound byte mentality, or with partisan politics… what we need is everyone working together to figure out answers for our problems.. and your GD is beautiful…

  • great post have a nice week.

  • What a pretty little girl she is. I agree with what you say .I am not an illegal but a resident  .as i haven’t been naturalised but why should i . I have lived and worked here for nearly 44 years  .and am not allowed to vote. because I will not bother to fill in dozens of forms ,which they had before we could emigrate, they also pay me a pension, so why should I go to all that bother, and it is a bother just to be called naturalised, when we came it was a white Australia policy, now anyone can come and do ,and after i think it was 2 years it may have altered a bit, they can become Australians ,but the majority of all our latest ones still dress and act as if they are in their previous country .. Personally i think all we 10 pound migrants who have been here for so long ,as they stopped that after they thought they had enough people, now they realise they haven’t ,and have attracted the wrong kind, there is a lot of animosity over here  between the Aussies and the Moslems, and the way they dress, the chief Moslem is in strife because he said aussie women deserve to be raped by the way they dress ,should even cover their faces ,now our lot are trying to get him sent back as it has stirred up a hornets nest. 5 Moslem lads raped an Australian girl recently. If I was youngm i would not emigrate these daysm but stay where i was born ,but of course I am too old to go back and too poor .England seems an expensive place after over here. I have answered this one instead of your one above. Love Marj
